ALL ABOUT ROADRUNNERS

Where We Live: Roadrunners are found throughout the southwestern United States, including the Mojave, Sonoran, Chihuahuan and southern Great Basin deserts.

How Fast We Run: up to 17 miles per hour!

A RoadrunnerWeight: 8-24 ounces

Length: 20-24 inches

Height: 10-12 inches

How Long We Live: 7-8 years

Mmmm...rattlesnake!What We Eat: insects, lizards and snakes. In fact, Roadrunners are so quick, we are one of the few animals that can catch and eat rattlesnakes! If a rattlesnake I've gaught is too long to swallow in one gulp, you might just see me running around with the tail hanging out of my mouth!

Can Roadrunners Fly? Only for a few feet, at most - that's why we became such good runners!
